Stock battery needed for warranty?

Hello,

I recently purchased an 8-cell battery for my X40, and no longer use the 4-cell. I am considering selling the 4-cell; however, should I keep it around for warranty purposes?

Depends on the brand. If it's an IBM battery there should be no problem with the warranty.

Yes, both the 8-cell and 4-cell are IBM brand batteries.
