USB-C/Thunderbolt Magnetic breakaway connector
For all laptops with a USB-C or Thunderbolt port:
Here is a neat solution to keep those ports intact longer.
This tiny USB-C accessory has a game-changing magnetic feature
I have ordered mine already from Amazon for delivery next week.
EDIT: Received and installed them, they work like a charm!
The following is specific for Europeans.
The Hagglezon website compares the prices from all Amazon shops in Europe that have your wanted item in stock.
Been using them for over a year now and sometimes the price difference between countries can be up to 50%!!
After Brexit, Amazon UK is no longer of interest for most Europeans, the continental outlets are cheaper and have no hassle with customs/import duties and VAT.
And next year Amazon Ireland will be opening its own outlet!
For the above magnetic USB-C connectors I used this comparison.
Please note the DuHeSin brand in the comparisons.
And if you scroll down and wait a few seconds, Hagglezon may come up with more comparisons.
Rinse, repeat.

The 140w ali version of this works well too. Under $10 on special for a pair.

RBS, this is a great find. Which of the shapes do you find most useful? Straight or one of the angled ones?

Re: USB-C/Thunderbolt Magnetic breakaway connector
I prefer the angled ones, cable pointing up and around the back to the right of the table the laptop is on.
Corrective edit: pointing up = pointing away from me, using horizontal L-shapes.

Re: USB-C/Thunderbolt Magnetic breakaway connector
I got the straight versions since I have two USB-C ports side-by-side and a USB-A port next to those. No interference that way.

I ended up buying a pair of straight ones and a pair of angled ones. These look really useful. Thank you again, RBS.

Re: USB-C/Thunderbolt Magnetic breakaway connector
After seeing an X280 with a damaged charging port, I'm tempted to get a few of these for my Thinkpads.

These are terrific. I ended up using the ones that are shaped like an upper-case letter L attached to the left side of the machine.

Re: USB-C/Thunderbolt Magnetic breakaway connector
My only “complaint” is that the magnets are a little weak and the cables can get pulled off when I reposition my laptop.
