Thinkpad Reserve Edition

#1 Post by khtse » Wed May 23, 2007 12:01 am

Any idea what this is? :?: I don't think it is merely a leather wrapped thinkpad...

Ah, I love suspenses like these. I wish and hope and pray for a piano finish thinkpad (like the S30).

I believe it's just a "fancy" thinkpad, nothing more....like those ASUS leather-coated notebooks.

Ugh... form should follow function, not precede it. :? It better not be mimicking Asus' leather laptops. Lenovo ought to be putting their money and effort into bringing decent 8-bit S-IPS displays to the Thinkpad, not some "old-world craftsmanship" BS. These are laptops, not antique furniture.

Just the exact color will be fine. Worried I might not have a shoe to match it with.

That does look like the Yoga, and they are drawing the same conclusion.

from one commenter:

"Okay, I have seen the actual notebook. It's definitely an interesting design and concept overall. I think people will be intrigued. As for the leather, you can emboss up to 30 characters onto the leather. I have only seen it shown as a light tan brown leather notebook, so I dont know if they have it in black or not. I am not too impressed by the leather myself, but it does add to the distictive nature of the laptop."

so, seems like nothing all that special, maybe a leatherbound x series or something?

Don't know but apparently they are granting access by invitation only. There is a prompt for an invitation code. Site also now says more info will be released in 12 days. So that's what June 12/13?
