Cooling comparisons of T23 v A30

#1 Post by Phazer » Tue Mar 04, 2008 10:15 pm

After getting and playing with my newly aquired A30, I became concerened about the lack of fan operation. So I downloaded TP Fan Control, (a very fine program may I add). Upon installation and and after much fiddling I concluded that all was fine by observing in both BIOS and Smart operation. Just for poops & grins, I decided to install it on my T23. With the "smart" levels on both machines set at 40=0, 50=3, 60=4, 65=7, & 70=128, the A30 is much easier to keep the temp at 45 or less. It will run at 42-45 and when the fan does come on, it shuts off in maybe 10-15 seconds. Quite often the fan doesn't even run. But my T23 has trouble keeping it below 45. And when it does kick on, it seems to run for 60-90 seconds, sometimes longer. Now I know that this isn't anything to be concerened about. And I can quarantee that the fan is clean and the CPU has good and fresh cooling paste. My question, (and I know this isn't an apples to apples comparison), is the A30 better designed than the T23 in it's cooling capacity? Also....I didn't run head-to-head, this is just a seat-of-the-pants feeling?
