New IBM Keyboard?

#1 Post by cynic » Sat Jun 05, 2004 3:02 am

I was just looking at a review from CeBIT and there was this picture:

OQO Picture

and I noticed the keyboard. Hadn't seen it before but it looks superflat. Anyone know about this with IBM connections?

Pretty slim. I just can't see if it has a TrackPoint or not. But that Dell mouse is ugly.

It just looks like the travel keyboard - its nice, based around a thinkpad keyboard so good if your used to using your thinkpad. Its been out for a while - more info found at :

I have it...two of them

The thin sim "thinkpad" external keyboard with ultranav! Actually two of them, for my stationary computer at work and home. Why? Because when you are used to an "thinkpad" keyboard with tree button trackpoint, you newer go back to mouse/large keyboard again. My opinon is that this keyboard is very good and well designed. Hope IBM makes another wireless bluetooth version of it, that would be nice.

The Keyboard is the IBM USB Keyboard with Ultra Nav

IBM Part Number 31P8950

http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/store ... &storeId=1

I am so used to the trackpoint feature on my TPs that I replaced the standard keyboard and mouse on one of my IBM Intellistation M Pro Workstations with two IBM USB Keyboard with Ultra Nav. It's compact and thin, but also has a key setup like a standard US 101 key keyboard. It also fulfilled my need dual keyboard inputs. Hooking two USB Ultranav keyboards on one machine worked so well that I had Bill get me some more for the rest of my company's workstations!

For you Thinkpad techies:

Here are some interesting links about the Ultra Nav/Trackpoint found on Current Thinkpads! I did not realize synaptics made the trackpoint till Windows Update showed the driver listed for the trackpoint/touch styk as a synaptics driver!

If you use Linux here is UltraNav/Trackpoint info
