Thinkpad Keyboards upkeep Wiki? For Cleaning Dry/ Wet, Keys Repair/ Replace, Trackpoint/ UltraNav insights fixes?

I have a popped left shift key on my surviving SK usb keyb with ultranav - PS: Excuse me for the typos.

How can i fix it; repair / replace the key?

At the immediate I am considering "transplanting left [censored] key from other ultranav keyboard" - whats the best/ safe way to pop it off? without breaking the tiny plastic tabs below the key cap.

Should I post this separately away from the larger meta question?


Another one has some wierd 'locked/ sticky' key phenomena.

Might have to follow some "method" to pop off some keys for deeper assess & cleanse. How to do that safely or atleast more cautiously, not blindly.

I've procrastinated such tiny things over time and i wish there was a collected set of wisdom on their upkeep - prevention and cures.

I searched via forum & via Google adv search site;thinkpads.com and found a few really old threads, lots of broken links/ image etc./ some conflicting info/ tips as well.

Can the collective wisdom be curated, compiled and linked in one place?
