Hi,
does anybody have a list of the 'internal' 2-digit BIOS error codes for the Pentium generation of Thinkpads?
By 'internal' I mean the codes that are output via the printer port during POST (Power-On Self Test), not the ones displayed on screen.
There's 'POST Cards' available to display these codes. They usually come with a tiny leaflet containing POST error lists for AMI, Phoenix and Award. How do I tell which one applies? What is the Thinkpad BIOS based upon?
Have the Thinkpad POST codes ever been posted?
Best regards,
singbad

Most if not all ThinkPads use Phoenix BIOS.

Re: Wanted: Two-Digit POST Error Codes List For Thinkpad BIOS
That helps, thanks. Now, the Phoenix BIOS POST code list says "38" means "shadow system BIOS ROM". Does it mean the BIOS shadow address space (F0000 .. FFFFF) is bad or unaccessable?
I have two T30s with that same POST-38 symptom. The DIMM slots had the usual lose solder joints which I re-soldered. Usually this does the trick. Not this time. I tried about a dozen DIMMs, all the same. Checked supply voltages, everything looks ok.
Without a DIMM plugged in I hear the 3 short No-Memory beeps that tell me the CPU is working. Also the fan is running and the LEDs look normal.
What else could I try?
