Getting wireless to work on T43 after formatting
Hi, I might look like a newbie but I first registered on here about 8 years ago but can't find my details. I'm on my 3rd T43 and the other day had to format it and reinstall XP. I've pretty much got all the drivers installed but the only thing that doesn't work and isn't recognised is the wireless part. In Network Connections, there's only the cable option there. Before formatting it worked perfectly. I've installed the drivers for the wireless but that hasn't helped. Is there some really simple thing I'm supposed to do to activate the wireless hardware?

Re: Getting wireless to work on T43 after formatting
T43 has reached an age where not everything is stable any longer.
The wifi-card is one of those.
You could try taking it out and cleaning the gold contacts with an eraser.
But there's also a nice wifi-N with up to 300Mbps available: TP-LINK TL-WN861N.
I have installed many of those in the T4x/R5x machines.

Also make sure you know how to install from device manager, I find the success rate higher this way.

Got both my T43s working with wi fi now. I can't actually say what made them work, I just kept looking for drivers, clicking to install and eventually everything worked.
