On my T41 with the 60Gb drive, I have an XP Pro host and 4 other complete machines (W2K, NT4, W98 and Linux) together with a large archive of files and I use half the drive. ... JD Hurst

Lot's of my space is taken up by images from my digital camera, 8 megapixel raw's take quite a bit of space. I also do a lot of mapping/GIS work and some of my geo-referenced tiff files are +1GB in size per file. Then I get into my other random collections of files, most of the stuff is permenantly archived on my workstation and file server at home, however I need to carry a lot of stuff with me quite often, which is why i'm looking forward to getting a new laptop soon and putting two drives in it, i'm looking at a 60gb 7200 rpm drive and a 100gb 5200rpm drive if I get the T42.

16.5 GB left on a 30 GB Drive.

I have had 40GB drives in my desktop towers since 2000, and I have never even come close to filling 40GB. Most of my media files are 1 MP photos from my old camera and some MP3s, so I don't need much space.

I am using about 18GB of 40GB HD i the TP. But I also have a desktop that I use mainly for storage purposes. It has 200GB and it fills up pretty fast. I back up in DVDs now.
What kind of files? photos, movies, music, CD images, etc...
