Nero 6 and Hot Swapping CD/DVD drive

#1 Post by WilsonF » Tue Dec 28, 2004 4:03 pm

Does anyone know whether Nero 6 stops users from hot-swapping the CD-DVD drive for a 2d Hard Drive Ultra-Bay Adapter?

With my last T42, I had Nero 6 installed and whenever I would try to stop the drive to remove it, I would get a message saying that the drive "can not be stopped right now" and asking me to try again later. In fact, I could swap the drive out only by shutting down and rebooting. I had Nero 6 installed, and attributed the problem to that, although I never actually tested by uninstalling.

If anyone else running Nero 6 knows the answer, please post.

I have Nero 6 on my T41 and don't have a problem dismounting the drive in Windows before physically ejecting the drive. I doubt anything will happen if you just eject it without Windows' approval.
