T41 thin white line on right edge of LCD

I just came into possession of a near new T41 laptop. The only issue so far is dead cmos battery and a thin line on the right edge of the LCD. The line doesn't interfere with anything but I'd like it gone. It looks like the screen is just a little off center, and with a desktop screen I would be able to use the adjustment buttons to center it, but there are no apparent buttons with my laptop. Is there anyway to adjust this?

No adjustment is possible, you need a new screen.

i had a similar issue with a Dell inspiron 600m before on the bottom edge of the LCD, but it only appears when the resolution is not set to 1024x768.
From what I see from your issue, it seems like it's either the screen or the cables fault. It will grow more and more of it and eventually renders the entire screen unusable. Had that on my 14.1" A30 before I swapped the panel bezel, cable and inverter with an UXGA IPS one.

What is interesting is the LCD bezel is off center, wider on the left than the right and it appears if the bezel was symmetrical there would be no line..

If it's a 14.1" screen, then maybe someone put on a (modified) T61 LCD-bezel.

The more I look at it, the more I think it is just an lcd going bad; looking at other T41 screens, they also have an off center bezel. . I bought a used, lcd lid assy that i will replace it with. Thanks for all the replies. I've got another issue that I am going to ask about in a new post.
