I own a IBM ThinkPad T42 which I purchased from a Car boot Sale for £10 it does work but is quite flaky sometimes it will run fine others it will display odd graphical glitches
like the ones pictured bellow

i believe this one has some cracked joints that are responsible for the VRAM. and the issue somtimes goes away after a power cycle. either way its due a reball with leaded solder. i know of the flexing issues and handle it carefully to prevent further damage.
what are your guys opinions on this fault?

First off, please resize the photos, or turn them into links. Even with a 1920x1200 LCD monitor I still can't see the entire image.
