really basic question

i just got my ibm t40 thinkpad today, and somehow accidentally turned on the number lock so that the letters on the right-hand side of the keyboard only type numbers. Can anyone please tell my how to turn that off?

PS - I also posted this is in another forum on this site, but I think it was the wrong one, which is why I posted this again.

Press the Shift key and the Numlk key simultaneously.
