T43p has gone kranky

#1 Post by Retours » Sat Aug 06, 2016 12:25 pm

My T43p has gone kranky. When I boot up the screen goes blank after 75 seconds and returns to normal at least 30 minutes later. It repeats this sequence in an infinite loop until I close down. When not blank the screen is perfect. Any suggests as to why this is happening, and is there a fix? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Is the screen reddish/pinkish at any point in the game?

Thanks for the reply. Nice to be here.

The screen looks perfectly normal. No red or pink hues, no bleeding.

That could be either a cracked CCFL (which stops when heating up, then when cooled down sufficiently, restarts again) or a bad inverter.
What happens on the screen of an external monitor?

I don't have an external monitor. I'll see if I can hook it up to one. Let you know. Nothing seems to be cracked. It hasn't been off my desk in a long time and hasn't been dropped or knocked.
