no-2010 mod for T43

#1 Post by kfzhu1229 » Sun Aug 07, 2016 12:31 pm

I have received a T43 that does not detect primary hard drive properly. The Ultrabay works fine. I have decided to leave the primary hard drive bay empty and simply put the HDD into the Ultrabay instead but the delay is there while 2010 error does not show up. Will the no-2010 mod solve the annoying delay of BIOS time?

No the 2010 whitelist bios will not affect the missing hard drive bay delay. You will need to have a hard drive detected to prevent that delay. AFAIK

For some reason that computer powers up the primary HDD but treat it as if there isn't one. In some cases, the primary HDD starts but the computer shuts down within a few seconds. Do you think SATA-mod would solve this problem or the SATA bridge is defective? The Ultrabay works just fine though. Also do you think by replacing the fuse or washing the motherboard would solve the problem?

Anything is possible but I would first suspect the hard drive.

You can check the Bios under Startup to see if it is being detected.

I am pretty sure it is NOT the HDD's fault because I transplanted that HDD into another T43 and it works just fine and the HDD is err-2010 free as well. I also tried other HDDs ranging from 4200RPM 20gb to 5400RPM 160gb none of them work in that PC. I opened up the PC and I saw no visible defects on the motherboard. What are some of the signs of the destruction of IDE converter, SATA bridge or something else?
