When the power button trick comes in handy.

I always thought the 10 times press plus 30 seconds trick was a little too good to be true. Well today, my T40(my first ever laptop) died while testing out various CPUs. Well, it died and i was not happy. Well, i said screw it and I did it. Lo and Behold it fired right up. That made me much happier .

Believe it or not, I was introduced to it by official IBM support while trying to revive my A20m which was still under warranty at the time...

And believe it or not: just holding the power button down for ~20 seconds does the same! Been there, done that.

Well, I can second that because I was too impatient to hold each button for 10 seconds each 10 times and then 30 seconds. More like tap tap tap.. 15 seconds and bam.
