2378FVU screen quality question

#1 Post by aamsel » Tue Jun 22, 2004 9:50 pm

I am thinking of getting on of these with the 14.1" 1400X1050 screen. I know that it is not a Flexview, but wonder what the overall screen quality is like???
(I am quite aware of the advantages of a Thinkpad).
TABOOK lists it as a 150 nit brightness, and I saw other spec lists saying that it is 1 200:1 contrast ratio. This didn't seem very high, compared to an HP nc6000 I was also considering. If anyone can elaborate on the screen quality, or if you have seen both systems I am considering, please reply.
Thanks,

I have a 2378-FVU.

It's very bright, although with direct sunlight it can get a bit hard to see. I'd estimate the viewing angle to be about 170 degrees. Clear, sharp, great quality.

Thanks,
Now I am just wondering if there really is a genuine assembly issue on this model, as has been discussed in another thread.

I have the FVU also. Excellent screen. Very sharp, I can't notice any ghosting at all.
