Bulge in the LCD - RMA? (LCD not a straightedge)

#1 Post by admsteiner » Wed Jun 23, 2004 2:02 pm

Hi,

A couple of people have been complaining about a gap in the 2378-FVU's. Having used a straightedge I've determined that the LCD bulges out (or up if you're looking at the laptop on a desk, closed). The bulge is 2-3mm in the center of the LCD.

Two questions:
1) Should I RMA it?
2) Will this bulge (which I haven't noticed on any other laptops yet, IBM or other) affect the screen in the long run.

[EDIT: I just got off the phone with their special T-42 support group. The lady said that this bulge is *not* normal (it appears that if they had added a third hinge it would have taken care of it) but she can't tell for sure unless she sees it].

Thanks.
Adam
