Touchpad creaking?
Touchpad creaking?
I have a T41... and my touchpad is creaking prety badly.
It's worse on the lower left side... Do any of your T series creak? Place you finger on the touchpad, and push down softly... (you sohuldn't need anything harder than a tap)

My touchpad doesn't creak in the lower left hand side. The only flexing I could detect was in the upper center of the touchpad (area right in front of the blue scroll button).
It is possible that the screws that fasten the touchpad to the wrist-rest are in need of tightening.

vpn-user, I am confused as to how your solution works.
"Crude Cross Section of T4x"
------------- <- Touchpad Layer
mPCI Slot/Card
<foam here?>
ICH4-M
------------- <- System Board
If the touchpad floats over the mPCI card, how does buffering the space between the mPCI card and ICH4-M make the touchpad more solid? Also, the mPCI cards get hot. Foam is an insulator and I'm not sure its a good idea to put foam on the hot underside of the mPCI card.
