vitalsource key questions

#1 Post by gosha16 » Tue Jul 06, 2004 8:00 am

my first question is about the charger. im going to spain the first week of august and wanted to know if all i needed was a little adapter to let me plug in my charger into the sockets over there? ibm's site says "Input Voltage 100 thru 240 VAC " so im gussing it wont have a problem with the 220v?

also, can anyone recommend a padded sleeve for the latop that i can use in my backpack?

finally, when i first go my t42 (3vu), i deleted all the space hogging folders (i386, ibmtools, drivers, etc) however, i didnt even realize but i also must have uninstalled the vitalsource key software. it would be nice if i could get that software back without a reformat so i can read some of the books on the plain. any way to recover this software without a reformat?

*EDIT* - all fixed except vitalsource key

Charger from US to Spain

With the charger that came with your T42, all you need is the plug adapter. The charger (with appropriate plug adapters) also works in Australia and Hong Kong, which I think have the highest voltages on public power systems.

The VitalSource Key software only comes on Educational models of the Thinkpad so most of us do not have it. I would look in the IBMTOOLS/APPS directory for the installation files.

thats the problem, it WOULD be there but i deleted the directory :( to free up some space. i guess the only way to get it back now is to do a recovery :x

are the recovery CD's different for the edu models? Otherwise, it might not be there.

What is vital source?

My real question..how did you recover the i386 directory and stuff? Did you have to reformat?
