My Thinkpad (T41, 2379-XX5) suffered a fall a long time ago onto its power connector, and while it still funcitons fine, the jack doesn't grip the connector like it used to. Also, I've noticed a problem where any accelerated graphics (benchmarks, Google Earth, etc.) get extremely fuzzy, a problem that fixes itself when the power cord is disconnected. Before anyone asks, I do not have warranty service for this machine.
I say all this because a friend of mine who runs a computer repair business told me that some Thinkpads have replacable power jacks. I'm wondering if anyone here can tell me
a)if my model's is replaceable
b)where to go about finding the replacement part and
c)if a user of intermediate experience (PC building, nearly zero soldering) can replace it himself.
Does anyone have related experience?

Can I replace my T41's DC jack?
Yes!
It can be replaced and it's easy it is not soldered to the mobo your model uses a plug in type DC connector.
See and download the Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad T40/p, T41/p, T42/p it will show you the steps you need to follow.

Here is the kit on EBay that has the connector:

You can look on EBay if someone is selling the connector only, IBM\Lenovo only offer it with the kit (as far as I know)
