Microphone on T43p?
Microphone on T43p?
I've done some searching on this forum and on the web, and can't seem to find if the T43p (2668-Q2U) comes with a built-in microphone. All the specifications I can find seem to indicate it does not (just a jack for an external mic), but I thought I'd just double-check with everyone on here...
I have a T42p right now and I believe it has a built-in mic. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
- marc
EDIT:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-58317 - detailed T43/p specifications
According to the above specifications, the T42/p systems don't come with an internal microphone either, but I know mine has one...so I'm betting the T43/p systems also come with an internal microphone - can anyone confirm?

All the T4X Series Thinkpads have the Microphone in the same location; two parallel slits above the Esc key with vector northeast pointing towards the screen.

One way to find out if you have a microphone is to go into your volume control, move the "microphone" slider up to mid or full volume and close your notebook. You should get a pretty good feedback sound.

I took the longer route of checking the Audio properties through ThinkPad configuration, abd testing my gardware...and I found out my T40 does indeed have one. And here I was thinking I'd have to find my weird looking Verbatim mic for chat
