T22 keyboard crack
T22 keyboard crack
Hi!
I got a used t22 off the ebay. This is my second thinkpad and I'm enjoying it very much. The t22 is a little beaten. The keyboard is loose near the cursor keys. Is the casing broken, or could I just change the keyboard to fix it.
Another question:
My fan is on all the time. According to hardware sensor monitor, the temperature is around 45-50 C. I'm guessing this is normal?

yeah, it is a known problem at that spot.
My T20 had the same crack, although it never left the office.
Comes from holding the notebook just on the front. The ThinkPad design has a flaw in that way, that they forgot to calculate the stress load on the 3 mm plastics strip on that spot. It just breaks due to overload after some time.
You can use simple plastics glue and fix it cheaply and then avoid holding the ThinkPad just on the front. That's all.
