No it will not. DDR2 does not work in it. You have to get the more expensive regular DDR.

hah well you'll never guess what...!

i bought this t42 2nd hand on ebay over a year ago with 1gb RAM.
i've only now decided to upgrade it so after ordering the new 1gb i thought i'd check if my current 1gb was in the slot under the keyboard as i hoped or in the one underneath.
so i unscrew the underneath one and what do i find there? a stick of 512 which isn't slotted in properly lol. so i've had 1.5gb all this time but only been using 1gb!
i've slotted it in properly and it works but now i have another question...

is it ok to mix pc2700 166mhz and pc2100 133mhz? because the 512 i just found is 2100.
everything seems stable so far...

The pc2700 will clock down to match the speed of the pc2100.
