Display Turns white , when app windows are maximized

Hi

I am having a weird issue with my LCD display since yesterday.

The laptop boots fine , I can open applications and use them, but when I "maximize" any application, the whole display turns white. I then have to restart the machine again

Could you pls let me know it this is a hardware issue or something else ? (I already did virus/malware scans using multiple products)
