So I decided to clean out my closet to make some more space and ran into some old friends, and made a new one.


Here's a whole bunch of laptops, probably going to rebuild/sell them, but wait, whats that over there?


Is that what I think it is?

Somewhere along the way the screen got cracked. Darn.


Most of the case is in fair condition, free of deep scratches and dents.


Fairly thick (and durable)


Original label is hardly legible. Dated August 2006


The bottom still has all of the covers. Battery is missing.


15" 4:3 screen compared to a 15" 16:9 screen (Toshiba C655)

But that's not all!


The box for my E425-1198. I paid some $800 for this thing a couple of years ago.

I don't have a studio, but I tried to recreate a stock photo anyways.

It has a replacement keyboard on it, function keys that don't exist. Burn damage on the Alt Key.


Burn damage on Q key. Surprising quality improvement over stock lenovo keyboard. Very little key wear and firm keystrokes that don't wobble.

Left side, nice amount of ports. Almost didn't buy it because of the combo audio port.

Nothing against big pictures in this particular forum, but at these dimensions, nobody can see the whole picture!
You'd be better off by just posting the links!
That way people get to see full pictures the size of their screen, not just a tiny corner!

Ooo! I have a softspot for R40s. It was the very first laptop I bought specifically to run & learn Linux on, back in 2007, off Ebay. Mine's the 14.1" screen, but I love it. It's been dropped twice, no damage done to it either time (I'm lucky, I know!), still runs & I use it almost every day.
