I've noticed on a few forums I visit, that at the bottom of the thread there is a Quick Reply Box. Is this possible, or even wanted for this forum?

vBulletin has that feature. I haven't seen any controls here to set that up, but if I come across one...

I was also kind of expecting this feature in the new forum. However, some googling reveals that it isn't supported by default in phpBB3.

Still, it can be added. More here:

It's really a good idea and may encourage some more lazy people to post :).
