Possible issues with forum access 5/9/09 - 404 errors

Some members have reported strange error messages today when attempting to access the forum. This is an example:

404 Not Found

The server can not find the requested page:
forum.thinkpads.com/index.php (port 80)

Please forward this error screen to forum.thinkpads.com's WebMaster.

At the moment it may be related to some server changes going on. It also seems to be browser or computer sensitive (one computer throws the error but another doesn't). You might want to try clearing your browser's cache and see if that helps.

edit: After hearing about this error a couple of times today, I finally experienced it first hand. Clearing Firefox cache and cookies didn't help. A restart of Windows seems to have (temporarily?) fixed the problem. Another system on my network still had connectivity with the forum so I don't know what to blame it on; DNS issues?

Next time you could open up your dos command prompt and type "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes off course.
