I bought a ThinkCentre 8188 for cheap on Ebay used it for a while with Xp
but i recently added some memory 3gb total and put windows 7 on it. I started with 768mb
and 7 was sluggish but the new memory solved that. Now it will crash from time to time
once every couple a days, possible bad stick? it has 4 in it now 2-1gb -512mb

I also have caught a bug the search results get hijacked to random sites Google, Bing etc.
If i copy paste the url from the search into the browser it works fine but is hijacked otherwise.
Adaware and Macafee found no problem tried Microsofts remooval tool no help either I used ATF cleaner
and it was ok for a couple of searchs and hijacked again. So i used ATF and cleaned the registry with clean my pc
and had the the same results.
Anyone have an idea of what i could try?

For the crash, do you get a BSOD? What does it say? Anything red flagged in the system log at the time of the crashes? If you just want to test the RAM try memtest86. Loop it for as long as it would normally take to crash. For the virus/spyware/adware issue....get a Mac .
