Problems running nhc 2.0 professional as a service

#1 Post by Wiz » Wed Aug 08, 2007 10:08 am

I been trying nhc for some time and find it to work pretty good so i figured i should buy nhc professional to make it run as a service. The application seems to work fine and do what it's supposed to do, but the service seems to do nothing. When the nhc service start i see no icon in the systray and nhc.exe does not start. Neither does the service (when started) change the speed of the fan or the CPU voltage. If i logon to windows and then start the nhc.exe manually the application work as supposed to. Also when i stop the nhc service the nhc.exe is stopped as well (if i started nhc.exe manually since the service do not start nhc.exe), but i also get an error message that says "The Notebook Hardware Control Service service terminated unexpectedly". When the service is stopped the fan speed is stuck on the speed it was running when i stopped the service. If i do not run nhc as a service everything is working fine. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong and how i can solve this problem? I already tried to uninstall/reinstall nhc/.Net.

My PC is a Thinkpad T43p running WinXP Prof with SP2. I also use nhc 2.0 Pre-release 6.
