dispaly changes on t30

#1 Post by wjrubin45 » Fri Aug 07, 2009 1:47 pm

Just got a T30 2.2 2366 JCU. I hooked it to my docking station with T30 resolution set at 1024 x 768 to get a decent size on the icons (using the T30 LCD with another larger monitor for dual display). Everything was fine until I hot undocked, then the T30 Display went to a "picture frame" (reduced size) centered in the screen at the 1024 x768 size. The only way I can get back to a full sized screen is to set the resolution back to 1450 x 1050 but then the icons & other programs that run on that screen are very small. Any ideas how I can get back the full sized screen display at the 1024 x768 resolution on the T30 screen.

The default resolution on that model T30 is SXGA+(1400x1050). You can change to 1024x768 in display properties, but there will be a black border on the sides. No way around this that I am aware of. The text will look fuzzy at that resolution as well. Why did you buy a Thinkpad with a resolution that you do not like? There are many T30 models with an XGA (1024x768) default LCD. You can also swap LCD's ...

I went to all the trouble of locating and installing a SXGA display and hate it. Dont get me wrong, its gorgeous for pictures or for video, hate it for everyday work. Got a good deal on a NOS (new old stock) screen in the original box and still wrapped, did not matter, still hate it. Its for sale in the Market Forum
