help needed on dead battery(?).

#1 Post by renhui » Mon Mar 13, 2006 11:22 pm

My battery wouldn't charge after it completely discharged today. The battery status showed up as "ERROR".
Does that mean my battery is totally dead? It lasted about 85 mins before it shutdown. It's been used for 180 cycles something.
Thanks a lot.

If you're handy with a multi-meter you can check the voltage and amps across the probes to see if you get any result, the hardware maintenance manual has the voltages for the pins and also the ohms across the pins. I read a while back that there is a thermistor in the battery for protection that can short out.
