Latch on T23 sticking

#1 Post by born2gogolf » Sun Mar 26, 2006 1:13 am

Is there any way to get to the latch mechanism on a T23 to fix it?
It's sticking so when I go to open it it doesnt retract. I have to manually retract it when i close the machine. Feels like it's on some kind of spring mechanism that is sticking and could be fixed IF you could get to it. Thanks

You will probably have to get an entire lid assembly to get the latch, I have not seen many for sale on ebay by themselves.

The part# for a latch kit is 91P9152. They are available from several online stores and IBM, of course.

IBM TP T22 (900/512/40/DVD/CDRW/14")

Thanks for all the help. Took the LCD out and saw that the latch was bent and all I had to do was straighten it out and Voila! Latch works perfect and I also learned a lot about disassembly and reassembly of my T23. Now where do all these left over screws go to???? This forum is awesome! :D
