Replacement sticky gunk for plastic screw covers?

#1 Post by solidpro » Sun May 08, 2022 12:08 pm

Hi

I've been restoring some T2x machines and doing pretty well. As a result I've removed a huge number of those little black rectangles and circles which cover screws on the base and around the LCD panel.

They all use the same sort of gunky gooy sticky stuff, which is a bit old and worn out. Double sided tape would be too thick and superglue would make it impossible to remove and reuse in the future.

Does anyone know of a 'gunk' replacement for the backs of these which is super-thin, but not rock hard like superglue? I guess a bit like the glue they use on post-it notes.... enough to stick permanently but also reversible and thin.

Thanks

I've been using Elmer's Rubber Cement for years.
It's perfect for those screw covers.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Brilliant - thanks, I've ordered some Elmer's Rubber Cement and I'll give it a go later this week!
