Help for a novice required

#1 Post by Dave_M » Sat Mar 11, 2006 3:40 pm

I am new to this forum so please forgive my lack of knowledge.
I have recently bought a T23 from Ebay, the condition is good and so far I am very happy. I purchased the machine primarily to take away on buisness trips and do not (currently) plan to connect it to the Internet. The machine has a very nice feel to it and seems to be a lot better constructed than the Dell I have, I am hoping it lasts me for a few years. I had to buy the operating system seperatley and opted to go for W2k, the same as my machine at home. I have the machine up and running, I had some issues with drivers etc. but the machine does work OK now. My main problems are:
I purchased a Logitech opto-cordless mouse, during driver installation it tells me I need Internet Explorer 5.5 at least, does anyone know how I can get hold of 5.5 without the machine connected to the Internet?
My second problem is finding a video driver which will let me watch DVDs

The machine has a 30Gb HD, 1.1GHz processor 512Mb of RAM. The number is 2647-8PG.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

First, you need a computer with a internet connection and need to be able to transfer the downloaded files to your T23 (via USB stick, CD, Ethernet...).

The drivers for your machine are located here. You need this video driver for W2k.

Microsoft doesn't offer a full download of the IE, you only get an installation file. However, there is a workaround, just follow the instructions on http://www.updatexp.com/download-ie6.html]THIS site.
