T60P Widescreen motherboard in a T60 4:3

Hi im Deniz and I am new here.

Always loved my Thinkpads as a kid I bought a T42 15 with Ati graphics and later on I bought a t60 14 inch with sadly intel graphics. I tried searching but didn't find answers to my question. I have the opportunity to buy a T60P 14.1 inch widescreen model with a broken display. Loving the 4:3 aspect ratio I would like to swap out the motherboards. But will it fit? The T60P has the Ati V5250 graphics and c2d T7200. So I think the swap would be worth it.

If its a t60p wide it’s actually a 15.4”, not 14”, but difference doesn’t really matter.

You could do the swap but you’d have to cut up some parts of the mag frame and then you can no longer fit 2.5” hdd or dvd drive properly.

Try to keep looking for a real 4:3 t60p, or their 4:3 motherboard, they were more common than the widescreen model.
