Sorry for necroposting, but...
And sorry - i haven't build frankenpad from R61 yet (already have normal T601 franky;)...

I have upgraded R61 with X9000 using hints from this topic and can confirm that 42W7822 can eat Penryn CPU (tested on T8300 and X9000).
My procedure: installing original 1.24 - 1.00 (BIOS - EC), installing Middleton's 1.24 - 1.00, flashing FL1 file from Middleton's 2.24 - 1.08 (after this step BIOS can accept penryn) and flashing FL2 file from Middleton's 2.24 - 1.08. After this step EC upgraded to 1.08. Arctic Silver 5 applyed and it's time to monitor temperatures.
