Re: T61 Bios Password Reset Issue
Welcome to the forum.
By removing the CMOS battery, you triggered the Supervisor password and locked yourself out of the system. There is no default PW, these are set by the user.
Given that the discussion of password cracking techniques are prohibited by the forum rules, the only solution that I can suggest is a motherboard replacement.
Good luck.

Re: T61 Bios Password Reset Issue
I figured as much.
What I don't understand is I set the BIOS pass, but now it doesn't work. I've only given the BIOS that one password.
Thanks,
Nylo

Re: T61 Bios Password Reset Issue
The Supervisor password might have been set by the previous owner, without you being aware of that fact. That's the only explanation that I can think of. These two (Supervisor and BIOS) passwords can be different and without knowing the Supervisor password, you have no way of actually getting back into the machine.
Good luck.

Re: T61 Bios Password Reset Issue
I did purchase that machine used years ago... darn!
Looks as if I'm going to have to go to the dark-side.
Thanks,
