Looking for an SXGA+ panel for my T60 2007-57U

#1 Post by devicemodder » Sun Nov 24, 2019 6:34 pm

Like the title says, I have a T60 Model number 2007-57U that i would like to upgrade the panel on to be 1400x1050. I have already upgraded the CPU/SSD/Ram and now i'd like to do the display. What's the model number of the panel I need to order from ebay?

Since that's a 15" model, you could also look for an UXGA (1600x1200) screen, such as BoeHydis HV150UX1-100 or -101.
Just as good (and probably cheaper), the Sharp UXGA as I mention here: /viewtopic.php?p=779362#p779362

I have little experience with SXGA+ screens, but those used in T60 were made by LG-Philips or BoeHydis.
Get the HMM for the FRU numbers.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

Sharp display mentioned by RBS here may be the best cost-to-effect solution, albeit I advice against it if you have zero ways to properly calibrate its colors.

After handling 3-digit number of T60s I have never seen Boe-Hydis SXGA+ screen so cannot tell much about it (I guess it was not used for European units), but LG-Phillips is a great panel, bright and very mild to eyes. On the other hands, it ages rapidly - and in a way that is really annoying (yellowing around the edges). If I have a decision ID-Tech UXGA vs LG-Phillips SXGA+, the latter wins the vote despite lower resolution.
Too many thinkpads not enough time!

I have a new LG made SXGA LP150E05-A2K1 (Sxga+ 1400X1050) screen and a used Sharp LQ150U1LW22N (UXGA 1600 x 1200) reported to be "refurbished". I will sell either or both for less than ebay options.

I may look into this option.
