Wow, this reminds me to the screen of a black and white TV my grandma used to have. I have no idea what causes it, someone hopefully will chime in and shed some light on what's happening. Did you buy the laptop like this? Or it worked fine before for you?

looks like some sort of intentional old CRT TV image to me.. maybe you're talking about the faded characters..?
maybe an 'old TV' effect added in the past..
where did you get that T60p..
i have one i could not bring myself to send out to be sold last year.. paid $3k+ for it with my yellow discount i had at that time..

The laptop at first behaved normally but was not used because it had a supervisor password set up. I bought it with the password. He stayed with me for three years. When I turned it on a year ago, I noticed this behavior. Now it is without a password but probably not for use.

I have a very similar effect with my Sharp display in my T43p because my Sharp screen came from a Toshiba Satellite and doesn't even fit a T43p without some intense modding (taping the brackets onto the screen, rewiring the CCFL connector because it was of the older bigger connector). Mine is just not nearly as pronounced, the centre has a little different colours than the outside and the centre will burn in rather quickly (but turning the screen off will get rid of the burn in after some time).
You can try to check whether this issue persists if you unplug the LCD connector but keep the backlight on. Mine doesn't if I do that so I am pretty sure mine is just a compatibility problem.

I have reconnected the LCD connectors again and nothing has changed. Without the main LCD connector the screen was black.
I left my laptop turned on for an hour and noticed a slight difference in the size of the white spot. So I left it turned on overnight.
After 12 hours it looks like the picture:

Try and rub/clean the LCD-cable connector [the one into the LCD] with an eraser, till the gold shines.
Remove eraser debris before reinserting it.
Switch off, remove power before removing the cable.

I did this cleaning but nothing has changed. The inner tape contacts were clean - gold. The matrix is ​​BOEhydis HV150UX1-100.

I did a quick search on safe temperatures for LCDs. From Samsung's website, their LCD TVs can safely operate between 10c and 40c. I'd err on the side of caution and put your laptop in a 20c room for at least one whole day before turning it on.
