Hi! I've got a spare T60 w/ 15" 1024x768. I'm thinking of upgrading the display w/ the LED-backlit 1600x1200 display (Boe Hydis 150ux2-100). I'm seeing a fair number of these displays on eBay, albeit not cheaply. Wondering if anyone has done this recently and where they sourced the display from? Also seems like I need to mod the inverter, and it seems like this service from the board room is the best option:
https://www.theboardroom.info/led_mods2.html. Is that the best way to go for this display swap? I'm not really looking to do any fine-pitched soldering myself.
Also planning to replace the M/B with the NVS140M version.
I've already got a T601F w/ original CCFL 1600x1200 display and intel graphics, which seems pretty bright except in outdoor conditions. I'm probably going to swap the mobos so that the LED display is paired w/ the intel graphics (for maximum battery life) and the CCFL display is paired with the nvidia card, for some light gaming. Frankenpad overkill? Surely you can't have too much of a good thing
