Thinkpad T60 won't start with new CPU.

Hello! I bought a Core 2 Duo T7400 to replace the old T2300 in my Thinkpad T60. The laptop starts normaly with the T2300 but with the T7400 the fans and hard drive start spinning, but the lcd stays dark and the laptop doesn't make any sound. I'm inclined to think that the problem is the old BIOS (version 1.07). Either that or a faulty CPU. What do you think is the problem? Thanks in advance!

Upgrade to the latest BIOS using the working CPU, then install the T7400 and go from there.
