where to source mouse buttons?

#1 Post by lucas » Thu Jul 30, 2009 2:35 am

hi,

i have two broken mouse buttons on my t61: the middle button for the trackpoint and the left button for the touchpad.

it seems that if i order parts from ibm, i'll have to order the entire palmrest assembly and the entire keyboard.

do you have any recommendations for where to locate just the mouse buttons?

thanks!

This might be tricky as they aren't sold separately.

Your best bet will probably be E-Bay and the Marketplace here on the forum, maybe someone has a cracked palmrest and/or a non-working keyboard waiting for you.

i just called the lenovo parts dept., who made me go right to tech support for not knowing the parts numbers.

the tech verified (fwiw) that i can't just order buttons--i have to order the entire palmrest or the entire keyboard.

i'll keep an eye on ebay and have just posted something on the marketplace here.

thanks for the help. if you get any more ideas, please let me know!
