X3x Keyboard caps interchangability?

Hey all

I have a bunch of X3x machines and the main thing letting them down is the worn out keyboards. It seems X3x keyvboards in good condition are hard to come by. Does anyone have any experience of using keyboard caps from another, more commonly available thinkpad as a source of replacement caps?
