Volume buttons issue on librebooted ThinkPad x60s

#1 Post by shako » Thu Apr 28, 2022 7:42 am

Hi everyone,

I recently librebooted a ThinkPad x60s and installed Parabola Linux on it. I pulled my fork of dwm (which works flawlessly on my librebooted ThinkPad x200) and soon noticed the raise/lower volume buttons weren't working. In my dwm config, I mapped XF86XK_AudioRaiseVolume and XF86XK_AudioLowerVolume to pactl commands (which work if entered manually in the terminal, but not by pressing the buttons). Maybe I should refer to such buttons in a different way in my dwm config?

IIRC on the X60 and its variants, those two keys don't map to XF86XK_AudioRaiseVolume and XF86XK_AudioLowerVolume.

I'll get my X60s from storage, test it, and will get back to you.

@axur-delmeria I suspected that was the reason - although I could not find the right "names" for those keys online... Thank you for your reply :)
