Don't get ripped off on an SXGA+ screen for your X61/X62

Right, OK, still a mystery then and I'll do that swap you suggestedflyingfishfinger wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 11:57 amMine happens specifically when I close the screen but don't turn it off. That seems to me like it's a temperature problem or something, since the screen would be heated up by the laptop body (maybe).
In my case the edge turns completely white, regardless of what's being displayed and I can repeatedly make it happen. When I open the screen back up it fades after a few hours.

Thanks for continuing this great work!
It encouraged me to dig out my X61s (which was in pieces), put it back together, and repair what was broken.
Now... I need a screen! Can I buy an SXGA+ screen with LED mod from you, xiphmont? I will send you a private message too

Re: Don't get ripped off on an SXGA+ screen for your X61/X62
I'm still getting to rebuilding the screens (I'm getting to the work here and there). Most will be in good shape once I finish, but I've had to carefully disassemble and evaluate each one. I'm getting there--- I need to finish my T70 QXGA rebuilds first.
I'll get back in touch with people when screens are actually ready to go. I want to have them all done in a batch.

Re: Don't get ripped off on an SXGA+ screen for your X61/X62
After holding off I finally bought an SXGA+ screen from aliexpress from a seemingly reputable seller (kevin trade shop)
It arrived today but has a few problems! Firstly, there is some display doubling vertically. Secondly, there are lines that 'jump' across the screen. Third, the entire picture jumps up and down very quickly.

Can anyone help/offer advice? is the screen buggered?
