#1 Post by b1ack0p » Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:49 pm

Hi

what is the purpose of transparent plastic cover on x61 motherboard? what if i totally remove it? if it is not recommended to remove the cover how can i take off safely to apply on another motherboard? i have 2 spare X61 motherboards one have T8100 cpu which i would like to use other is T2400 cpu on it. T2400 motherboard protection cover is in good condition T8100 motherboard protection cover is ripped. if i can take off T2400 motherboard cover safely i would like to put on T8100 motherboard. any advice how to take off motherboard protection cover?

thanks.

I think you can replace it with Kapton tape.

That cover is to protect the mobo from coffee/tea/whatever spills, leave it (unless the mobo is dead already).

well I couldn't get the mobo with T8100 cpu working.. when I plug to AC adapter led light turns on the bezel but fan doesn't work no view on lcd screen.. no life symptoms at all.. when I first got it was working I dont know why it doesn't anymore.. I think I will continue using the mobo with T7500 cpu.. is there significiant performance difference between T7500 & T8100? it would be nice to have Penryn cpu..
