Hi,
I want to upgrade my X61 wifi card from a 4965ag to a ac7260 and wanted to clarify a few things.
1. If I install the 7260 it in the left mcpie slot the integrated bluetooth in the ac7260 wont work as there are no usb lanes to this slot is this correct?
2. If i install the 7260 in the right mcpie slot both wifi and bluetooth will function as there are both usb lanes and pcie lanes to this second slot is that right?
3. If installing into the right mcpie slot do I need to insulate one of the pins on the card to get bluetooth on the card to function?
4. Do i need to remove the bluetooth daughterboard/module under the screen bezel if I want to use the integrated bluetooth in the ac7260 wifi card?
Take a look at our

Re: Wifi upgrade X61 need some clarification
1 & 2 Correct.
3. You may need to cover Pin 20 enable WiFi, and Pin 51 to Enable Bluetooth.
4. It's best that you remove it to minimize interference.

Re: Wifi upgrade X61 need some clarification
To those who care here is what I ended up doing...
AC7260 in left mcpie slot - no bluetooth in this case
Upgraded the bluetooth module in the screen bezel to one from an x230, plug and play and now I got bluetooth 4.0
Both wifi and bluetooth status leds work as a result.
