If you need a non-Lenovo memory ,see this site, http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... ht=#138200
As for DVD/RW,Lenovo product (new one) is,

In Lenovo web,
Model name 40Y8623
Description ThinkPad Super Multi-Burner Ultrabay Slim Drive - Flat Bezel (Dual Layer)
Web Price* $259.00
Currently direct web sale $189 (it's a best deal in web)

This requires X6 base for X60.But as you may know T60 does not need Ultrabase.
Since last month, I have been using above DVD/RW drive in X60 and T42 ,working good!

I travel a lot so I bought the separate USB 2.0 DVD burner drive and it is worth it.

I bought a 1GB Patriot DDR2 667Mhz PC5300 from newegg.com for about $100 and installed it to my 512MB X60 without any problem. Now I turned off the swap space and noticed a speed boost. I really recommend those who buy a new X60 to buy an extra memory. When I first used mine, windows plus IBM add-on drivers took about 4xxMB already. My virtual memory usage after I opened a couple programs was almost 80-90% all the time. Once I upgraded and turned off swap drive, the memory usage is just about 65%.

The multiburner for $189 seems good deal to me but my unit comes with the X6 ultrabase and CDRW/DVD combo. I guess I am fine with it.
