Is my X60s a Ultralight one?
Is my X60s a Ultralight one?
I got an X60s (1705-33U) from Ebay and I think the LCD screen is quite bright, but none in the description says it's Ultralight TFT.
So, is there any way to find out if the screen is Ultralight or not?

You can look up the part number for your screen on this site. Then Google up that part number.pauljdsn wrote:So, is there any way to find out if the screen is Ultralight or not?
Alternatively, if you have access to an accurate balance, weigh your laptop. For an X60s with a 4-cell battery, it should be around 2.69 lbs if it has an Ultralight screen. If not, it should be 2.89 lbs, like the one I owned for two months.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP

Re: Is my X60s a Ultralight one?
Yes, there is -- requires the removal of one screw.pauljdsn wrote:So, is there any way to find out if the screen is Ultralight or not?
The cover and bezel of the Ultralight LCD are different from the cover and bezel of the regular LCD. Assembled, the two covers are identical. However, remove one screw and you can peek inside that screw hole to see the difference.
Remove the rectangular screw cover from the middle screw on either the right or left edge of the LCD cover, and then remove that screw. If inside the hole you see a brass metal piece with threads, then you have the Ultralight LCD. If inside the hole you see nothing (dark) or you see white metal, then you do not have the Ultralight LCD.
Good luck.

FWIW, I just ordered a 1705CTO last week which also has a UL display. My existing 17025JU doesn't however. It'll be interesting to compare them side by side.
